Kate Morton is an Australian author known for her captivating historical fiction novels. She was born in 1976 in South Australia and spent her childhood in the mountains of Queensland. Morton attended the University of Queensland and completed a degree in English Literature. After graduation, she worked as a speech pathologist before pursuing her writing career. Her first novel, "The House at Riverton," was published in 2006 and became a New York Times bestseller. Since then, she has written several other successful books, including "The Forgotten Garden" and "The Secret Keeper." Morton's writing is known for its intricate plots, well-developed characters, and beautiful descriptions of settings. She currently lives in London with her family.
