Paula Hawkins is a British author known for her bestselling psychological thriller novels. She was born on August 26, 1972 in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and later moved to London as a teenager. She studied economics and philosophy at the University of Oxford before beginning her career as a journalist, writing for publications such as The Times and The Independent. In 2009, she released her first novel, "Confessions of a Reluctant Recessionista," under the pseudonym Amy Silver. However, it was her second novel, "The Girl on the Train," published in 2015, that brought her widespread success and international recognition. The novel was adapted into a film in 2016. Hawkins has since released two more novels, "Into the Water" and "A Slow Fire Burning," both of which have also been well-received. She continues to write and live in London.
Not the best book by Paula Hawkins. It all starts with Miriam discovering the body of a young London man on his houseboat.
