R.J. Jacobs, a seasoned author and psychologist, has devoted himself to his profession for more than 18 years, starting in 2003. Operating out of Nashville, he manages a personal practice where he specializes in addressing a range of clinical issues. Following his post-doctoral residency at Vanderbilt, he not only imparts his knowledge as a professor of Abnormal Psychology, but also actively engages in conferences as a speaker. In addition to his fulfilling role as an author, he also conducts PTSD evaluations for veterans with compassion.
I have to say, I really enjoyed this book. For a debut novel, R.J. Jacobs did an incredible job. The pace was fast, and the narrator, who has bipolar disorder, was portrayed so well. You could really feel the internal struggle she faced. I couldn't quite connect with any of the characters, though. Maybe that was intentional. Overall, it was an interesting read.
