I just finished Cold as Hell, the third book in Kelley Armstrong’s Haven's Rock series, and I couldn’t put it down. The story takes place in the isolated town of Haven’s Rock, where Detective Casey Duncan is called in to investigate a crime during a brutal blizzard. The storm traps everyone inside, and the tension is palpable as Casey works to uncover the truth behind the crime.

Kelley Armstrong’s writing is as engaging as always. The mystery is suspenseful, and the chilling, snowbound setting really adds to the atmosphere. I love how Armstrong creates this sense of urgency—everyone is trapped in the town, and the storm intensifies the danger. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

What really makes this book stand out, though, are the characters. Casey Duncan is a fantastic protagonist—strong, smart, and relatable. The emotional layers she brings to her investigation make the story more than just a mystery. And the relationships between the characters feel real and are so well-developed. You really feel for them as they navigate the danger and pressure of the situation.

Overall, Cold as Hell is a gripping read that I highly recommend to fans of mysteries with great characters and a tense, atmospheric setting. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!
