Catch Me

This story kept me guessing, which is all I ask from a good thriller author like Lisa Gardner. Charline has had a traumatic childhood. Years later, she's finally made a good life for herself when her best friends are murdered, one by one, on the same date, exactly a year apart. Charline knows she's next. She knows how and when she will die, but she has no idea who the murderer is. This book explores different themes su... Read Full Review »

Hopeless

Let me start by saying that Colleen Hoover is my favorite author at the moment. I've loved every book of hers that I've read so far. With that in mind, Hopeless has a slow beginning. I had a difficult time getting into the story and even had to put it aside for a while before diving back into it. It took me longer to read than average. Nonetheless, at about halfway through the book,I started really enjoying it as the p... Read Full Review »

What She Left

A disappointing book from T.R. Richmond. I initially loved the idea of this book. I liked how the story was told from different points of view. I enjoyed that it was modern. But I could just not get into this book. The letters from Professor Cook were just too... I don't want to be confusing, but it didn't interest me, which is a problem as the story is mainly told from his perspective. Although the plot is intriguing,... Read Full Review »

Alright, so I'm a big fan of Colleen Hoover, and I always love her books. It's always an easy read, and I enjoy how the story isn't predictable for the most part, and on November 9, it was no different. I can't say it was my favorite, but I really enjoyed the story line. As always, I just wanted to know how she was going to turn this one around. There is always a plot twist, some more believable than others, perhaps, b... Read Full Review »

Fiction

The story starts with a doctor's office, a diagnosis, and a teenage son who is frustrated that no one understands how he feels. Although it could easily have been a grim story about the ups and downs of living with Asperger's and PDA, Jules Smith makes the book refreshing, funny, and engaging. Even though she is struggling to make it all work, she keeps her head high, chooses her battles, and when in doubt, she has win... Read Full Review »

Bon Bons to Yoga Pants

A well written Katie Cross book! Bon Bons to yoga pants was funny, engaging, and, most of all, relatable. Meet Lexie, an overweight girl in her 20s who has always turned to food instead of dealing with her emotions. Her dad died recently, her younger sister is getting married, and there's Bradley, her online crush, who hasn't seen anything but her face yet. Until he invites himself as her date for her sister's wedding.... Read Full Review »

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

Gabrielle Zevin's writing always surprises me. I rate a book 5 stars when it makes me go through different emotions, when it overwhelms me to the point that I feel the need to discuss it with others, or when it makes me stop and think for a bit, when it challenges me. The Storied Life of AJ Firky is great for book lovers. But it also makes you think. What would you do if you were in their shoes? It's definitely a book ... Read Full Review »
