I just finished Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell, and I couldn't put it down. This psychological thriller grabs you right from the start and doesn’t let go. The story follows Owen, a lonely schoolteacher with a shady past; Saffyre, a troubled young woman who becomes obsessed with Owen; and Cate, Owen’s sister-in-law, who starts to think he’s hiding something.
What I really liked about this book was how real the characters felt. Owen’s quiet desperation really got to me, and Saffyre’s vulnerability added an emotional layer that made me feel for her. The shifting perspectives between these characters kept me on edge, and just when I thought I had the story figured out, there was another twist.
The book dives deep into guilt, shame, and how people can be invisible to each other, and I appreciated how Jewell handled those themes. The twists were satisfying, though I’ll admit, some of them were a little predictable for anyone who reads a lot of thrillers.
Overall, I found Invisible Girl to be a gripping, intense read. If you like psychological thrillers with complex characters and lots of twists, this one’s definitely worth picking up.
